Ministering to the lost   strengthening the weak   encourAGing the strong

... a Mission Outpost

During 1994, local residents on Mackinac Island began to meet to discuss forming a Bible-based, year-round ministry on Mackinac Island for mainly its residents. By 1995, The Mackinac Island Bible Church was born and a pastor was brought in a year later to lead the growing work. Soon, it was evident that MIBC became a gospel "Mission Outpost" as we began to minister to summer workers and visitors from all over the world each tourist season. Our DNA changed as we saw opportunities to introduce people to a relationship with Jesus, disciple them and then say "good bye," sending them back to where they came from to spread what they had heard and seen of Jesus and His love! Rather than simply retaining people to build a local ministry, we've spread the Gospel around the world by those who have come our way - the nations come to us! This makes a faith ministry like no other and we are humbled to be here.

Meet Our Leaders

We Believe...

... in Father God, Jesus Christ the Son, and God Holy Spirit... the Triune God!

... Father God is Eternal, All-Powerful, All-Knowing the only Wise God. He is Ever-present and Unchanging. There is no one like Him and anyone can have access to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. He is Love and Faithful to His children because He loves those who trust in Him. His ways are found in His Word which He established forever. He is Long-suffering, Patient and Kind.

... Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and it's all about Him. He came into the world fully man, yet He is fully God. He is the Way mankind can be in full relationship with Father God. He lived a sinless life and was crucified in man's place, our substitute on the cross for our sin - all of us. He is the spotless Lamb who was sacrificed so that we can approach the Father in assurance by His blood that was shed on the cross. He rose again victorious over sin, hell and death.

... Holy Spirit is the One who walks besides His children. He convicts of sin and helps the believer conform into the image of Christ. He teaches His children and leads into all Truth, testifying of the Son, Jesus Christ. He leads followers in righteousness. He comforts and prays through us.  A measure of Holy Spirit is given at Salvation to all who believe, but a "filling" of the Spirit  is received (Ephesians 5:18) in full measure by a baptism of His Spirit (Luke 3:16, Acts 2:4), evidenced in the fruits and Gifts of Holy Spirit - a work subsequent and in addition to the gift of Holy Spirit at Salvation (Acts 2:38-39). This is evident in Christ's disciples at Pentecost, other followers after Pentecost and to us as well. This doctrine is confirmed in Acts 19 when Believers at Ephesus were asked if they had received Holy Spirit "since they believed."

... the Bible, the Holy Scriptures (Genesis to Revelation) is and contains the Word of God - the revelation of God to mankind. It is inspired by the Holy Spirit, without error, authoritative for all faith and practice...

... the Atonement accomplished by Jesus Christ in His death on the Cross purchased the price of the sin of the whole world, It only applies to those who receive Jesus as their personal Savior, Lord and Master...

... Salvation is found in no other than through Jesus Christ - the Way, the Truth and the Life. It is a free gift, received by grace through faith, believing in the heart and confessing with the mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord. It secures our eternal home in heaven and demands a dedicated and loving obedience to God's ways ...

... The Church is the extension of Christ's ministry in the earth and has the authority that He gives in His Word. It is to be a testament of His love and though full of imperfect people, the Church is still being sanctified as it is humbled by the work of the Holy Spirit to teach and guide it...

...Jesus Return is eminent, according to Scripture and is only for those who have received Him as the only sacrifice for their sins, atonement and salvation. His "saints" will be resurrected from this earth bodily and will reign with Him forever...

...Ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper are to be administered in the Church. Baptism by "immersion" is the Biblical pattern and the Bread and Cup of the "New Covenant" are to be received until the return of Jesus and in remembrance.
