... a Mission Outpost

During 1994, local residents on Mackinac Island began to meet to discuss forming a Bible-based, year-round ministry on Mackinac Island for mainly its residents. By 1995, The Mackinac Island Bible Church was born and a pastor was brought in a year later to lead the growing work. Soon, it was evident that MIBC became a gospel "Mission Outpost" as we began to minister to summer workers and visitors from all over the world each tourist season. Our DNA changed as we saw opportunities to introduce people to a relationship with Jesus, disciple them and then say "good bye," sending them back to where they came from to spread what they had heard and seen of Jesus and His love! Rather than simply retaining people to build a local ministry, we've spread the Gospel around the world by those who have come our way - the nations come to us! This makes a faith ministry like no other!

We Believe...

... in the Father God, Jesus Christ the Son, and God the Holy Spirit...

... the Bible, the Holy Scriptures (Genesis to Revelation) is and contains the Word of God - the revelation of God to mankind. It is inspired by the Holy Spirit, without error, authoritative for all faith and practice...

... the Atonement accomplished by Jesus Christ in His death on the Cross purchased the price of the sin of the whole world, It only applies to those who receive Jesus as their personal Savior, Lord and Master...

... Salvation is found in no other than through Jesus Christ - the Way, the Truth and the Life. It is a free gift, received by grace through faith, believing in the heart and confessing with the mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord. It secures our eternal home in heaven and demands a dedicated and loving obedience to God's ways ...

... The Church is the extension of Christ's ministry in the earth and has the authority that He gives in His Word. It is to be a testament of His love and though full of imperfect people, the Church is still being sanctified as it is humbled by the work of the Holy Spirit to teach and guide it...

...Jesus Return is eminent, according to Scripture and is only for those who have received Him as the only sacrifice for their sins, atonement and salvation. His "saints" will be resurrected from this earth bodily and will reign with Him forever...

...Ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper are to be administered in the Church. Baptism by "immersion" is the Biblical pattern and the Bread and Cup of the "New Covenant" are to be received until the return of Jesus. Both ordinances are for only those that are believers.
